By definition is the process of renewing the pointing (the external part of mortar joints) in masonry construction. Deteriorated mortar joints allow for water intrusion which can potentially lead to significant damage.

Concrete Repair/Replacement/Installation – The lifespan of concrete depends on different variables such as levels of use, environmental conditions, workmanship, etc. Good concrete can have an infinite life span under the right conditions. However, there are other factors that can also play a role in deterioration of the concrete such as: water and frost (concrete is porous and can absorb moisture leading to the freeze/thaw process), incorrect grading, incorrect cement/water ratio, incorrect placement of concrete, inconsistent mixes, impact from collisions, general wear, plant and/or tree damage – ivy, algae and tree roots, de-icing salts combined with moisture can penetrate the concrete and cause corrosion on the reinforcement steel eventually leading to spalling and cracking of the concrete.

Below-grade & Interior Waterproofing – coatings or membranes are applied to a building or structure in an effort to eliminate water intrusion and protect its structural integrity.

Some causes of failed sealant are: weathering, loss of adhesion resulting in the separation of the sealant and the bond, loss of cohesion (the internal integrity of the sealant), loss of elasticity which can allow for increased hardening of the sealant, improper installation, etc. Failed/deteriorated sealant will allow water to enter into the building envelope. Water intrusion is a serious and costly issue. Maintaining areas that are vulnerable to leakage help prevent interior damage..

Used to divert moisture/water, which has entered the wall, to the outside. Through-wall flashing is used at all points where moisture/water may enter the wall and in selected places particularly susceptible to water damage (i.e. around windows, skylights, etc.).
